Sicard '1927–pr.
(Sicard SSI Group Inc.)
This Canadian builder, from Ste Therese, Quebec, dates back to 1927. The company built trucks, but was a specialist in the manufacture of snow-clearing and municipal cleansing vehicles. (The company founder Arthur Sicard had invented the snowblower in 1925.) Sicard also built various series of tractor trailer units throughout its history, and despite relatively low production numbers they were a familiar sight in eastern Canada during the 1950s. Sicard SSI Group Inc. supplies a complete line of industrial snow blowers, runway sweepers, and other related products ( plows, spreaders, etc. ) for airports, municipalities, and military bases worldwide.
